Enjoy The Island entertainment with live local band performance or exciting masai show we surprise our guests once a week with. Our romantic guitar solo will provide a light atmosphere throughout the dinner for you to feel relaxed and joyful. Join in traditional dance of masai group and dive into the energy of the tribe. All dances and songs performed in the show are passed through the generations and are used up to this day during important life periods of masai
- Exotic Experience Package
Enjoy a full experience of The Island with the Exotic Experience Package.
For a minimum stay of 4 days you will be able to book it and you will have the possibility to live in full the amazing The Island Pogwe Lodge.
With the Exotic Package you will be entitled of all soft drinks, quality spirits from the bar list and a selection of quality wines by the glass (except Champagne, Cognac and aged whiskeys) from 10.00 am to 10.00 pm. Together with Daily afternoon coffe/tea break with snacks (upon requests).
Included in the package the choice of 1 between our most famous activities on site: local boat excursion sailing & snorkeling in Pongwe Bay or local fishing excursion (subject to weather conditions).
Experiences are not yet finished; you will also have one Local Spice Farm Tour with guide, and a fantastic romantic dinner on the ocean terrace with a a private Masai show.
Finally relax yourself with 1 hour massage per person on terrace or inside the room
- Sailing and snorkeling on a local dhow boat
A very local experience where you will be taken by captain of a traditional dhow boat to the Pongwe reef, just in front of The Island. With snorkeling equipment provided you will have few stops close to the reef to explore an underwater world and sail around the bay with the tide.
- Local low tide spearfishing

This is a low tide fishing experience where you will be shown ways like fish spotting in seaweed and hand spearing it, catching fish with your hands, sea urchin collection and tasting. Freshest fish cached by yourself – what can be better for your meal? Our team of chefs can prepare a perfect meal made of your lucky catch.
- Local line fishing on a sailing dhow boat
Local fishing experience on the traditional sailing dhow boat with fisherman from the village. They will show you all their skills, share secret techniques and will make sure you learn line fishing Zanzibari way.
Delicious meal will be cooked for you on The Island Restaurant from your catch by our chefs.
